If you are nervous about embroidering directly onto expensive fabric or a bought garment, consider stitching the design as an appliqué.

Polyester organza works well as a background fabric without a stabiliser but you will need to select a design with a simple shape.

Cut out the completed embroidery carefully and attach with invisible thread.
